Why do you train BJJ?: I train Brazilian jiu jitsu for a lot of reasons. The obvious ones are health, self defense, and just to keep me off of the couch. But at this point, my entire family is involved in the sport and I have some of the best friends that I’ve ever had because of it. BJJ has Impacted me in the best ways possible and I can’t imagine my life without it.
Why do you enjoy coaching?: I really enjoy the idea that something I share with somebody might make a difference in their life, or at least help them succeed at this thing we do.
What can your students learn from doing BJJ beyond just martial arts skills?: Confidence, respect, and self control are just a few things people will get out of training Brazilian jiu jitsu. Kids can learn valuable social skills and adults will have the opportunity to see a side of themselves they had know idea ever existed.
